Eddie Palmieri Latin Jazz Septet (Beverly Hills, CA)
March 30 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm UTC-8
Since founding his first band in 1961, legendary Latin jazz pianist and composer Eddie Palmieri has collected nine Grammy Awards, released 36 albums and was named a 2013 NEA Jazz Master.
For Latin New Yorkers of Eddie’s generation, music was a vehicle out of the barrio, and Palmieri had the gas pedal pressed all the way down. Born and raised in the South Bronx by Puerto Rican parents, Palmieri made his mark as one of the first bandleaders to introduce trombones to traditional salsa music, and he’s enchanted audiences around the world with his irresistible salsa sound on hits like “Azucar” and “Muneca.”
See him live in concert when he brings his Latin Jazz Septet to Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
