The Sydney International Bachata Festival is to be postponed to next year

The organizers of the Sydney International Festival said a few days ago that there were no reasons to cancel the event and they were kept informed about the recent developments related to the COVID-19 virus by the Australian Government Health Department and the World Health Organization. However, things have changed a great deal in the last days, leading them to announce that the festival is to be postponed to next year.
On its official Facebook page, the event directors provided the following information:
“Dear SIBF Friends,

With the COVID-19 situation and its rapid escalation, the fact that the government has banned all non-essential gatherings of 100+ and the fact that all Visitors to Australia have to be in self-isolation for 14 days, sadly, it is impossible for us to run the 2020 festival.

It is with heavy hearts that we make this announcement, but we must abide by the government restrictions. It is also very important to us that our beloved dance community stays healthy and well and that we play our part in helping to slow the spread.

The 13th SIBF will be POSTPONED UNTIL 2021 and will run from 22nd – 25th April 2021. It will be held at the same Venue and same Hotels. All 2020 Artists are being offered contracts for 2021. We hope that all our guests will support us and attend in 2021!

If you are a Ticket holder for 2020, we have a few different options available. Please contact us for further information.

If you have bought a Full Pass or Performer for the 2020 SIBF, we are offering;
1: Credit for 2021, which will be automatically processed & a receive a free t-shirt
2: Donate your pass
3: Request to Refund.”
In the case of accommodation, customers are guaranteed that their reservations will be completely valid for the coming year. In the case that a customer cannot or does not want to attend, he will get his money back.
